I am an observant Jewish woman. I suspected for a long time that I am asexual, but until a few years ago I thought I made up the term and wondered if there was anyone else out there with feelings (or lack thereof) similar to mine. Then I discovered AVEN and other online gatherings of such individuals, which was very gratifying, but I still feel alone in a crowd.
I believe I am what is called in these circles a "romantic asexual." I very much want an intimate relationship, with physicality, just not of a s----l nature. I do become intensely emotionally attracted to people. I want children; I want a family. What's more, I am very committed to my religious identity and so I am looking to meet someone who has a worldview and lifestyle compatible with my own and with whom I could have such intimacy without calling attention to our "difference" within the community.
