I'm looking for friendship, chat, possible hanging out with males or females. I'm Zen/Chan Buddhist mostly, also interested in Vedanta and the philosophy known as Stoicism. (It's not about being tough or having no feelings.) I am far from a virgin, not asexual, but I enjoy periods of voluntary celibacy. Even when celibate, I am affectionate and enjoy hugs, holding hands and warm human contact. I have had long-term relationships with both sexes. Interests/pastimes: I like going to the movies (comedy, sci-fi, action), reading (social sciences, biographies, religion/spirituality, travel), surfing the Net, playing Scrabble, mahjonng, chess (I'm a beginner), enjoy walking, hiking, swimming and biking whenever I'm able (I have joint problems, arthritis, possible MS...it means I walk with a cane sometimes and had to use a wheelchair two or three times last year. But sometimes I feel pretty good and can walk a mile or two briskly, no cane, no help. ) I'm on Social Security, but I do office work and help with medical and social science research for extra $. I don't know how much appearance counts on a celibate site, but I'm short, chubby but curvy as well, have medium-short blonde/lt. brown hair and blue-green-grayish eyes. I wear glasses most of the time and I'm often told I look like a secretary or librarian. I dress casually/sporty style most of the time, maybe an occasional dress/skirt. Currently, changing my diet from semi-vegetarian to totally veg, mostly vegan, lots of raw food. It's not just ethics - I want to lose some weight! I'd like to hear from easy-going, interesting, kind, pleasant, affectionate people who aren't prudes, but are temporarily or permanently celibate. Shared interests would be awesome, but not necessary. I have never been married, but have had "common law" and live-in relationships with men and women. I have 5 teen-young adult children who don't live with me. (Can you see why I might need some celibacy? I'm tired, you know?) Hoping 4 new pals.
