there is nothing very interesting about why i am celibate. its a personal value. or i should say it held value at one time in my life and no longer carries that value. i can find intimacy in myriad ways . there is something about the act of s----l intercourse that leaves me flatlined.i didnt always feel that way. i was very s----l as a young woman. I love to be close to a person I care for, i love to do for them, to make them comfortable and happy. snuggles , even smooches, are lovely. but I feel very strongly that this culture we live with places far too much emphasis on S-- and s----lity . i remember the first time i heard an advertiser refering to a car as 'sexy' and it sounded so ridiculous to me, I started paying more attention to the things to which we assign the word 'sexy'. Toothpaste? a vehicle? but when the world decided that men can have an erection at any age with the hep of a little pill. i saw how marketers were just trying to profit from peoples obsession with sex, (an obsession that they sponsored) and actually actively trying to make people think there was something wrong with them if they are not still se---lly active as seniors, I kind of checked out. lol I follow my body's cues. not societal pressure.
