Let's see I enjoy my life and I think that, in many aspects, I got out of it more than I dared to dream, not my wild dreams, but my cautious dreams. Having a compatible partner would definitely bring even more joy. “Compatible” being the key word.
Here are a few of the things that I like doing: I like being good at my job, so I spend time reading scientific papers, learning about adjacent fields, and just doing my daily job conscientiously, but with a certain level of imagination. Troubleshooting is one of my favorite activities. I am working on having a career where I can work more from home, so I can have a little more flexibility. Outside work I like watching movies (most everything, documentaries, sci-fi, international, chick-flicks, comedy, but nothing involving violence); reading (classic novels, National Geographic, travel documentaries, mystery etc); listening to music (anything from oldies, rock and roll, country, to classical – my latest discovery being “the Met in HD”); dancing (not doing much of it though); walking in the nature, looking up at leafless trees in the winter, or budding trees in the spring (their profiles against the sky are mesmerizing); traveling, lots of traveling, either long car trips or flying to different countries; visiting gardens; walking in the snow (some skiing, but I am not very proficient and I am also very cautions, as the logistics of recovering from a fractured limb would be a little difficult right now) volunteering (not doing much lately, but I hope I can get involved more soon); some arts and crafts, it seems that I am good with my hands (I’d like to have the opportunity to work in wood);playing games, nothing that involves money, but games in general, preferable those where a score is not kept because I don’t like the winner/loser dichotomy; eating healthy food.
Some of my personality traits: I am perseverant, I like humor, helping others, I am a bit too honest, I tend to side with the weak.
