Is it my membership thats the problem or has nobody posted on here?
As for been shy about sex, well, it's been a while as I've chosen celibacy for myself, and I dont know when I'm gonna end it. I've no urge to just yet. But I was always a little shy in the bedroom anyway. Anyone else the same? Oh and hi to anyone who may read this. If anyones out there!

Hi Newts and Blazingwen,

I've just become part of these networks and I see that there seem to be a lot of people present, but no one wants to chat. I guess here people are looking to h--k up more so than chat as on yahoo. I guess I can say I'm se---lly shy now. I was abused at a young age and learned to be very s----l, but I learned that the behavior I was raised with will only earn me men who treat me bad and I don't want that. I decided that I would stay single/celibate for a year as suggested by a guy who was looking out for my wellbeing and shared that it changed his life tremendously. I now see what he was talking about. I only talked to him for one hour and I didn't know him before that, but I trusted him because I could see the change in him from where he told me he started and what I saw before my eyes. Now it's been 16 months and I want a man (the one in my head) but I'm very scared to actually venture out and contact a man for fear that I will still chose/accept the same trash that I was used to. If I find a good man, then I feel shy/intimidated and don't really know what to do that is "proper".

Well, that's not very encouraging for someone new. Hopefully, with the new members they are saying are all about on here, there will be more brave souls up for discussion, etc.
I am hopeful to find someone to meet, even if we don't date. Why bother with a site like this, if you're not going to do anything w/it?
Only thing I can add is: "COME ON PEOPLE! ASSERT YOURSELVES! GET INVOLVED!
No one is going to meet anyone w/any success if no one tries. That goes for every area of life!

MAKE IT HAPPEN FOR YOURSELF IN THE NEW YEAR!
CHEERS! Wink

`Hello to you good people.
I have been wondering why I haven't introduced myself to more people. Yes there is a bit of fear that goes with it all, will I look stupid? will nobody respond to me? Are we really in that much fear because were worried other might get the wrong idea ? Specially as we are celibate for what ever reason. I,m sure it should bring us together. After all it is just about making friends. All I can say on the subject from an experience I had. I joined a protest group on face book. It was new and the protest had only just started. it was about closing a music station. So like many other I started posting comments. Suddenly finding the same people kept commenting. But still we were not making friends. Then one lady from south America invited me to be a friend. She really helped me to take the bull by the horns, as she said she had liked my comments. That is all it took for me to say. " What the hell did I think I was doing" When there was other people on the site who I thought yes we could probable be friend. So I started inviting other I thought come across as nice people. And some said to me thank you for the courage to say Hi. It was all thanks to that one woman who inspired me. Then before we new it we had a really strong team of people all working together as friend on the net. And the bonus was we won the day. We are all still friends now. It was and is truly magical.
So we might all get on, (we certainly have something in common, that makes us odd to the majority of society ) we just don't know yet. But I think it will help if we add just a little bit more of ourselves to forum, blogs extra Post your favorite video, books extra. ( So I will do my bit as it has to start with me the only person I have any control over)
I always feel a bit odd saying I like your profile. Is it a bit forward I,m thinking. Well from now on, I'm just going to go for it. I,m just saying I,m interested enough to get to know you. Friendships, let alone relationships take a long time to establish. So I,m just seeing how we might get on. Its just an experiment so what if we don't gel that fine (we are not going to get on with every body. I,m not going to know till I try. But the bonus will be maybe we will. Doesn't matter where in the world you are. The only intent is to start to get to know and share what we know at least we have in common and how that affect us in our world.

So all the best to you all.
Unity yet diversity in Celibacy.
PS excuse spelling and grammar, not only am I celibate I also have creative spelling issue. (or as other might say I,m dyslexic.

`I was never shy about sex, but just to help keep these forums alive, thought I'd just jump in here. It's the fact that I wasn't shy about it that made me see how much energy was wasted on it. I'm a quite vibrant woman ... and it gets interpreted the wrong way by a lot of folks. But I can well imagine some people would be shy about it. ....but that's not the reason you've chosen celivacy, right?

`I share the same observations as you all - why doesnt anyone communicate? Im asexual and with that comes a very very important basic fact - I dont view my hunt for a partner in physical or s----l terms - it just isnt relevant. So why then when someone ISNT looking for sex and in fact simply isnt interested at any stage in that, is it so difficult to get any rapport here?

`oh and I will just add in case the website owner reads this - YOUR SITE IS BRILLIANT, IT HAS ALL THE FEATURES THAT I WANT AND NEED - ITS PERFECT. So please dont think we arnt we are dissatified at that, its just the people and only they can decide whether to be active or not! So I really appreciate the fact that this site exists ad I hope the asexual community will grow here and shug off whatever keeps people from being more active

Thanks for your kind words!

We are very proud of our network, and the wide variety of sites within it.

We love that people join a particular site they are interested in, and then stumble across all the other sites in the network.

(It's not quite stumbling though, since we recommend sites based on how members describe themselves.)

Our guess is that there are a lot of people who join Passions Network because they find other sites of interest, and then they spot Celibate Passions and decide to see what it is all about.

For people dealing with celibacy and / or asexuality, it can be eye opening to find a community where they can express themselves fully and completely without fear of rejection or ridicule.

And we hope that as our network grows, we are able to introduce more and more celibate and asexual people to this site, and to one another. If we can help even a few people build some strong platonic friendships (or even lifelong non-sexual relationships) via Celibate Passions, we will be thrilled!

We are pleased that you like the site as is, but we are constantly working on it, and on the network...and we hope to have it continue to grow both in functionality, features and members, for a long long time.

Thanks again for your nice words!
Cool

`Not shy about sex or s----l intercourse. I just see it for what it really is. A physical process which people afford an 'emotional attachment' -a hypothetical but viral schemata which is nothing more than responsive biochemistry.
The interesting aspects arise with psychology, the judgement of the conscious mind based on the *nalystical or responsive handling of associated information. It is common for psychology to respond to biochemistry but the *nalytical and objective mind may override the subjective noise of the physical environment in order to establish more accurate and congruent perceptions.
