While I don't have lots of time during the school year, I would like to spend early weekday eve's and/or weekend time with someone who loves culture, nature, dogs, symphany, plays, film, inexpensive meals out, sharing love of books, new hopes for the U.S., and folk-world-country music. Would love being in any group who shares similar interests too. I like intellectual conversations if they're "real," education ideas, sewing, yoga, ballet, classical and alternative music. I have blue streaks in my white/gray hair because I'm an old cowgirl and somewhat blue sometimes because my free time is so precious and often is spent listening to music alone, reading, or watching shows like Bones, House, Dexter, Six Feet Under, Dead Like Me, and CSI. I love good wine, dancing, spitz (husky type) dogs, especially Norwegian elkhounds. My heritage is patchwork quilt of Appalachian-Cherokee (tsa la gi), Celtic-Welsh, and Hugenaut French.
I also love traveling with my students once a year and attending seminars my school sends me to; last year Harvard!
I am reasonably leftist but not fanatic about it. I research and reason out all these important news and civics issues for myself. I need friends who will understand that there are a few times each year with reports, conferences, school play when I simply have to be 'offline' for a week or two but will return when the marathon's over.
