I'm a happy, college-educated, lifelong- single, Caucasian female, 52 years old, and looking for someone who enjoys the same things I do. I'm HWP, a non-smoker, and in excellent health. I have no objection to romance, but I want someone to be my best friend first, with no other expectations. The dating game is hard to get back into at my age, and somewhere along the way they changed all the rules about getting to know each other long before deciding to go any further! I enjoy reading, taking long walks, and writing fanfiction. I haunt thrift stores, enjoy finding neat old things to repurpose, and could spend all day in antique shops. I enjoy healthy eating, dining out, and having a glass of wine or a cup of coffee with a friend, and I sometimes even enjoy cooking. I'm independent and somewhat solitary and shy, but I do enjoy being with other people. I have a dry, sarcastic sense of humor. I'm a liberal and a progressive (but, at least for now, non-church-attending) Christian. I love to travel and am happy to pay my own way. I don't much like camping and am not much of a hiker, but I could be open to day hikes or urban trails if you enjoy that sort of thing. I'm looking for a friend who doesn't mind a spur of the moment trip to La Conner on a sunny day to walk the town, shop, and enjoy a nice lunch and good conversation. I love touring old houses and museums. I am looking for a someone with similar interests, philosophies, and education who is honest about looking for friendship in a pressure-free environment. Drugs are not okay, not even marijuana, and I am kind of rabidly anti-smoking. I'm happy with my life, happy with my job, and looking for someone who is generally cheerful, positive, responsible, and law-abiding.
