I have a near neighbour who I'm close to. She's had a bit of a rough time with a boyfriend who abuses her and who still calls the shots. I've mentioned giving him similar treatment but she won't have it.
We catch the same bus to and from our respective workplaces and through chatting we've become close friends.
Catching the bus home the other night I noticed the idiot bf standing in the bus queue. Further along the queue was Alicia & her (I thought) good friend Yolande. 'I've just seen your idiot bf up the queue' I said. If looks could kill...lol. It seems that (a) Yolande wasn't aware she was still seeing him and (b) It seems my perception of Yolande as a close friend was mistaken, only a work buddy! Usually when we're on the bus we're virtually joined at the hip and the next morning while we're waiting for it she had a go at me for (as she put it) opening me gob! lol. As you'd expect, things were a little strained as we went to our usual seat and she sat on one side of the bus and I the other. It was all I could do not to burst out laughing as I saw the expressions of the other passengers as they boarded the bus at their various stops and spotted us sat on opposite sides. You could see it written all over their faces......uh-oh, domestic!....pmsl! didn't last long though.That night on the bus home we were joined at the hip again! Argument forgotten, that's what being friends is all about!
